(205,344 posts)A woman who worked to get the ERA passed in Oklahoma back in the day, who was on the phone call with TFG when he was attempting to bully the Georgia SoS into "finding" more Republican votes! And she's also involved in the clearly illegal efforts to make sure that local election officials are willing to do what they need done in the next election.
I really don't get it. I can see how someone might "wake up" and realize that the Republican party is no longer "the party of Lincoln." That happened to my grandmother back in the day, her Dad voted for what really was "the party of Lincoln" (he was born in the 1800s) and there was a Democratic machine in the city where she lived when she was young - but she became involved with a great group of people (not to mention she knew how I voted) so she woke up in time to vote for Bill Clinton - twice!
That I can understand - but I cannot understand suddenly becoming corrupt - especially if it involves supporting the likes of TFG.

(205,344 posts)And my Dad also played the sax! BTW, Bill Clinton is the only president that I've actually seen in person. He came to my little burg back in 2006 to campaign for Kirsten Gillibrand. And I am sure that his appearance made a big difference - not only in turnout, there was standing-room-only just to see him - but in defeating a long time Republican incumbent. He is one brilliant speaker - and certainly impressed the crowd!
