Papantonio: Southern Republicans Cling To Pre-Civil War Mentality

Years ago, Republicans in the south were considered an oddity by the mainstream GOP. But today, those same southern Republicans who long for the pre-civil war days have taken complete control over the Republican Party, and pushed moderates and independents out. The military industrial complex, their immersion of religion into politics, and even their love of corporate America can all be traced back to the roots of the Southern-brand of GOP. Mike Papantonio talks about why the Republican Party has embraced this way of thinking with Chuck Thompson, author of the new book “Better Off Without ‘Em.”

It's coming.
The Republican Party made a deal with the devil after 1964 & now they're about to lose their soul because of it.
The Party of Lincoln died in 1877.

After that point the Republican Party devolved into a big business, money-minded entity.
And after Franklin Roosevelt remodeled the entire Democratic Party with his New Deal, the Republicans became power-hungry because of FDR's Revolution.
With the 1964 Civil Rights Act passed by Lyndon Johnson's, John Kennedy's successor, the Republicans knew they lost Blacks forever & needed numbers to retain power.
This led to the courting of those racist Democrat Dixiecrat voters who couldn't stand to see that racist Jim Crow fiefdom broken down.

They had a chance to pick a righteous direction in the 1950s but ultimately picked the worst direction in the 1960s.
Now it's time to pay the piper.
The devil wants his due.

2012 is the end of the Southern Strategy & possibly the end of the Republican Party.
John Lucas
