(111,222 posts)I think he's backing out because their stock has tanked and mostly because he dimly realizes they've never turned a profit and that's not because they were mean to conservatives, it means their business model sucked.
The latter can mean two things, first, he realizes the company is not worth taking and second, even if he does, he needs to know how many real meatspace subscribers it has who aren't bots from corporations and hostile governments, a tall order for an outfit like Twitter. That means he might have a business plan in mind that could make it an effective company that turns a profit, but not while it's infested with shills and bots.
As for the no taxes, it's not like he's alone and I fault bad laws from Congressmen wanting to keep their contributions coming in and gamesmanship among the CPAs and tax lawyers he hired to keep track of the stuff he didn't care to while keeping it legal. The cure isn't giving Musk a more likable persona, it's passing some laws with teeth in them that even their financial staffs can't weasel out of.

(13,481 posts)I dont use Twitter, but dislike what he has done to try to acquire the company. In fact I dont care for any person or group that tries to take over companies against their will.
