Democrats Pessimistic About January 6th Hearings Impacting Midterm Elections - Ring of Fire

According to a new report, Democrats in the House don't believe that the public January 6th hearings are going to move voters very much ahead of the midterms, but they aren't slowing down either way. And that's a good thing. If they are doing this without any expectation of influencing elections then it proves that they actually care about the country - not just scoring political points. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

our democratic processes (and institutions) involve a great deal more than the next election cycle. And there's a danger inherent in attempting to reduce it to that.

But now we know that not only were the viewership numbers huge, but what was presented was persuasive and compelling - and this was just hearing #1, there's a lot more to come. So it may very well affect elections to come, besides being good for the country. Democrats are known for cleaning things up. *sigh*

I'm sure that the Republicans don't agree, but we absolutely can't move forward until we're able to deal with January 6th, as painful as that is, get the facts out there and do some major cleanup. And I have to agree that last night's hearing restored a lot of hope. So it looks like we may be able to accomplish both things, especially if the subsequent hearings are as revealing and compelling. And I think that just this one hearing did a great deal in restoring some needed faith in government to this country.

The hearings are not over. The voting season hasn’t started. Many of us believe that a couple indictments are “soon”.

There’s a lot to disagree with in that headline.

As was said in the video, the upcoming elections could certainly benefit as well as having a positive effect on the country.

that effect their daily lives since most are in chorus re: everything negative concerning the present admistration and it's party. The grid lock in the senate with the help of 2 democrats that side with the GQP. If both parties worked together to try and relieve inflation, high gas and high cost of food, etc. we could get somewhere, but alas the GQP welcomes inflation (greed) because the GQP want to win at any cost.

That said, when the USA's media especially RW constant lie, distortion of any truths and insane conspiracies flood the airwaves, democracy takes a major hit.

shithole and his comrades, including GQP in states and the US congress plotting to overturn the fair and legitimate election, where the Capitol building, D.C., was attacked for the 2nd time in history, this time by our own because of lies. People died, suffered injuries both physical and mental while shithole held up the National Guards.

Yes, I think this will be a major impact.
