1. Al Franken says that trump's only defense is "insanity".

Maybe because our legal code uses "insanity" as a way to avoid harsh treatment.

But I think we need to introduce some more mental conditions into the legal lexicon such as "megalomania" and "psychopathology" and many others.

Some of these terms may be more applicable in this and other cases, and do not immediately invoke the 'protections' of being deemed insane.

Maybe some of these mental conditions could also cause more severe treatments than just being locked up in an asylum.

I'd add sexual predation to this list. Are they insane? Or do they need some special treatment and isolation from society?

2. I don't think he's insane (apologies to Al), I think he's ignorant

He knows nothing about history or world affairs or how government works - let alone the Constitution he swore an oath to, but he doesn't care. He went into this for the money, developed a taste for power and now refuses to give it up. He figures he's "the boss," as he was for his family business, and therefore can do anything he wants, doesn't have to answer to laws. He's in for a rude awakening, I fervently hope...
