6. I know that this comparison is often

overworked, but Germany was filled with "law and order" militias in the chaos after the first World War. They were former soldiers. Hitler used militia thugs to intimidate people long before he was voted into power. They were part of the failed Munich putsch. That failure did not stop him or his thugs.

I’m old enough to remember the beginnings of the “militia” movement. I’ve been worried for decades about what those assholes might do. It’s a threat to national security that never should have been allowed to fester.
