From what we saw over 4 years, I tend to think of Pence as a echo of TFG. He did come out with "TFG was wrong," but too little, way too late..

10. Doing what you're paid to do isn't the same as going above and beyond.

Sure, he had to deal with Trump, but he signed up for that when he agreed to run as his VP. He heaped praise on Trump for 5 years (campaign plus 4) through all the damage Trump caused.

Pence wasn't thinking of the country, he was thinking of his future political career.

If he could have gotten away with it, I firmly believe Pence would have gone along that day.

For fuck's sake, the man had to call Dan Quayle to tell him what to do - which means he was thinking about doing it.

Pence did a good thing, It's possible to say that and also call him an asshole.

7. Now that's the point, isn't? He even took the time to call Dan Quayle!

Come to think of it, Dan Quayle likely knew who to call - not to mention most of the witnesses who were interviewed today...

13. I dunno but I like to think that Pence was a sniveling, groveling piece of furniture for 4 years.

After being pushed around, ignored and doing Trumps petty dirty work (like at the football game where they were kneeling and then Pence and Mom immediately left).

The humiliation he got from that burned deep in his soul and that when Trumps goons
came to hang him he made a big boy decision to stand up to him.
I think it WAS his first last and Only moment of bravery. He did it, too.
I know he isn’t a hero, but I am still grateful.

Can anyone remember any issues Pence championed or independent responsibilities he held for 4 years? President Carter changed the Vice Presidency with Mondale who had his own independent responsibilities and an office right near the president's which was the center of action. TFG turned back the clock with Pence. I can remember nothing he said until his VP debate with Kamala Harris (the one with the fly), and all I remember from that was his quotes from TFG.

It was long past time he stood up for himself and I'm grateful, too. Though it sure is confusing since he's reverted to championing TFG and his policies to "supporters" who now resent him...
