I have a cable package with HBO.
With the advent of streaming channels, there is less reason to keep it....but it can easily nickle and dime me.
Peacock (has a couple of cute things) will no longer be free with Comcast.
MLS announced a contract with Disney+ that will take my local team off of local cable channel.
I live on the wrong side of a mountain to get broadcast television or radio. I may downgrade my cable to the local channel bundle while re-directing those dollars to streaming channels on a rotating basis.

(10,962 posts)Why are you telling people to steal cable programming?
It's simple, if you can't afford something, go without. If it's important enough to have it, pay for it.

(4,919 posts)I am mostly streaming, but services are offering bundles now that makes sense.. For example, Hulu offers a bundle with Disney+ and ESPN... Paramount+ bundles Showtime and CBS live. HBO Max is bundled with my AT&T bill.. I am definitely saving money over when I was paying for these services individually... And, it's more flexible than DVR or watching live broadcasts.
I have not used a cable box since 2018... I rent a section of a house, and pay the internet portion of the bill. However, the only thing I watch live really is MSNBC via MSNBC app on my Apple TV.. However, this only works because my landlady still uses cable boxes that include MSNBC in the cable package.
