He's a coward through-and-through, and what he did on J6 was simply the path of least resistance.
That he hasn't spoken to the Committee proves it

and doesn't want to alienate magats by coming forward.
I believe he refused to leave the Capitol because he knew he'd never get back on Jan. 6 to do his duty, and in his mind doing his duty was to confirm the EC ballots (that translates into driving the stake into trump's heart), thus leaving 2024 for himself.
