. . . There are plenty of mainline protestant clergy, as well as Catholic and Orthodox clergy, who abhor everything Trump stands for.

There are a lot of reasons, rooted in our history, for the relative silence, but I think it is past time to recognize that the logic behind remaining silent no longer prevails.

Not sure you can get anymore blasphemous than that. Christofascists don't care though.

There are two major groups of ‘Christians’ in our country;
Christians of faith and
Political Christians who praise proud adulterer Trump who does not need Christ’s forgiveness and ridicules Holy Communion.

11. Meh. At best a half-slam that Meidas talked-up for clickbait.

A real slam would've called for a federal re-evaluation of these politicized, partisan houses of worship, with the aim of revoking their very special tax-free classification (which explicitly-partisan politics and candidate endorsements void), audits, and heavy IRS fines or prosecution.

But what he said is doubtless more than what any other US lawmaker or political candidate had to say on that subject this week, so kudos to him for doing that much.

that seem to ignore most Christian teachings and seem to favor the constant rout one hears about immigrants, illegal aliens (I'd prefer to call this 'people who are looking for help' instead.)

I thought that the USA was one of the most charitable Countries that have ever existed in the World, but from the onslaught of negative news about White Supremacists, vile republicans threatening to take away/sunset social security benefits for 10s of millions after only five years, complain about providing health benefits for millions who otherwise, would never have any sort of health benefits, moan about paying out too much in food stamp benefits to hungry families, gripping about illegal alien babies needing baby formula etc. (the list goes on and on) etc., and then complain in the same breath that "oh my! don't increase taxes on the billionaires and millionaires!', red state US and those that support them don't have a pedestal to stand on.

This is one of the things I've been most disappointed in. They say that charity begins at home. Well, it doesn't certainly seem to be starting in some states here in the USA.

I wonder, because if you listen to the two loudmouths Marjorie Taylor Greene or Boebert (I pray that both their days are few, and that they both suffer), baby formula is being stolen from regular babies here in the USA to provide for illegal babies. Since when did it matter where a baby was from, when it needed something? Regardless of the situation of why that baby is here, help the baby and don't be an a&& about it.

From the way we all see and hear things, red state USA moans constantly about federal benefits being paid out, but then you see the red states all in line, w/ their hands out for these complained about benefits. I'd say that if red states continue to complain, then don't pay them their benefits and then see how they act then.

Red states need to grow up and stop complaining constantly about the same old things that they been complaining about (and they recently had power too, in the Congress until they lost it (but chose to pass a massive tax cut bill instead)). Red states need to start acting decent, but I don't think they know how, as it's been ingrained into them to moan and gripe etc. about anything democrats and other caring people do.

Red state USA also is suffering from the biggest (and this is IMHO, my opinion) brain drain in history, that is, people are fleeing red states to seek better pay, better schools, etc. in blue states (and thus, avoid representatives who don't know how a fake TV set works (kind of bad, and pathetic, eh, for a representative to complain and then realize that it was all fake later after it was pointed out to him.
