I always enjoy hearing from Sen. Booker. I love his uninhibited joy, and respect his serious consideration of current issues.

But not nearly as excited to have him on as Colbert was - he said that when Senator Booker is on, it's "a vacation" for him since the senator is "a champion talker..."

Entirely by accident! I was vacationing in southeast Pennsylvania when he was guest speaker at a naturalization ceremony aboard the USS New Jersey. He was very personable then and has grown since. When he ran for the Democratic primary in 2020, I sent his campaign a donation -- something I very rarely do -- because I believed in what he stood for then.

And tonight's show just reinforced that perception. I just wish Florida could replace Rick Snott and Marco Boobio with people of Booker's caliber.

As always, thanks!

When he was known as a hero! And you're certainly right - if only we could replace our worst and most despicable with those like Senator Booker, it would give all of us hope! Not to mention, he's also one of Stephen Colbert's favorite guests since he's so forthcoming to interview - and of course they share the same values for our country.
