considering Russia already are trying every dirty trick they can, fuck'em. There's been too much appeasement already from Germany and France, due to their own narrow selfish interests.
It's also in the interests of the EU to get the Russians under as much pressure as possible before the need for oil and gas shoots up in the winter, when Putin will be in a stronger position.

As far as I can tell, they could sail to Kaliningrad and back through the Baltic Sea. If they can't then it is not just due to Lithuania.
