The High-Stakes Gamble Of Democrats Boosting Extremists Candidates - All In - MSNBC

“The theory is to prop up an opposing candidate that is so unelectable, your candidate seems like the only sane choice—even to voters of the other party,” says Chris Hayes. “But in a time when our democracy is on a razor's edge, it seems like a very risky gamble.” Aired on 06/22/2022.

These days, it seems that for Republicans, the more extreme, the better! Rhiannon12866 Jun 2022 #2

You cannot be a Republican in good standing anymore unless you either a) are a full-on fascist yourself; or b) are willing to enable fascists at every turn.

And of course, the second are far more dangerous - because they often "sound" reasonable ("concerned," even), and are therefore more electable.

Nothing worse than a wolf in sheep's clothing.

From my perspective, TFG was the most extreme in my lifetime - no experience, no knowledge of history or government - and he attacked his fellow Republicans (John McCain, Jeb Bush, etc.) more than he attacked the opposition! And, inexplicably, he attracted a "following." He didn't get more votes that his Democratic opponent, but too few seem to remember that. *sigh*
