5. I've seen some of these, standing in the road outside Planned Parenthood

And it sent me over the edge why they would feel entitled to harass complete strangers - or why they would go out of their way to harass those who were accessing medical care. There was even an elderly man in a wheelchair! WTF??

The first time I saw someone, I was in a hurry on an errand - and I saw what I thought was a crazed woman, standing on the shoulder of a busy main road holding a large sign that said she'd once had an abortion. My first thought was that she must be mentally ill and needed in intervention of psychological help. It wasn't until much later that I found out that there are medical buildings set back on a side road near there - and that one of them is Planned Parenthood.

6. Back in the 1990s my ophthalmologist 's office was in the same building as an abortion clinic.

The protesters there harassed me as I was about to go into an appointment stating that by me getting medical care at that building I was supporting abortion. I laughed in their faces and went to my appointment. Afterwards, they continued to harass me and I had a stern discussion with the idiots for about 15 minutes. I went to that building and saw protesters there a couple more times over the next few years, but my confrontations with the self-righteous who want to impose their ideas on others solidified my position supporting abortion rights and the Democratic party.

Now that I'm older and don't give a f***, if I'm confronted in that manner again I can't guarantee that I won't hold back or treat the protesters as though they are human.

How nutz is that?! Surely they knew you were there for eye care, these people are clearly obsessed and deranged. And what business is it of theirs that you need to see an eye doctor - nor is it any of their business what health care female strangers getting at Planned Parenthood! Coincidentally, that's how I finally figured out why that nut job was standing on the shoulder of the road holding her large sign - I gave a friend a ride to the ophthalmologist whose office is on that same side road and saw more of them - picketing Planned Parenthood. And I have to admit, just seeing them also sent me over the edge...
