1. Can we stop with the "spineless Democrats" trope please?

It may be good clickbait for your show, but it isn’t true nor is it useful. Let’s try being angry at Republicans for what >they< have done, rather than attack Democrats please.

2. Good point. What do you think about the suggested actions that the Biden Administration could do?

Re:
- the Hyde Amendment
- leasing Federal Facilities to provide spaces for health services
- etc.

Do you think that those are feasible solutions for the time being?

5. Yeah, egbertowillies. Maybe see Democrats more clearly. We've been up to our ears in battle.

And refresh your memory about Democratic Party spine.

We got back to winning in 2018 and 2020. Damn right. Those were two blue waves.
In 2020 almost 16 million more Democrats voted for Biden than voted for Clinton in 2016, and she still won the popular vote by 3 million.
And we can still get more votes than in 2018.
So we really have proven that winning is getting us "there."

When we get 54 Democratic senators, and we'll do judicial reform and expand the SC to 13 judges, one for every Federal District. And codify Roe.

10. But havent' we heard this before?

One of Obama's campaign promises was to codify Roe

And he did have a super majority for a while.

And... it didn't happen

I am sure some here can post a fifty page excuse why that is. Just as I am sure they can for every other promise that didn't pan out.. blah blah sausage making.. blah..

That doesn't undo the fact that again, it didn't happen. And its now coming back to bite us all in the behind. this is making people as angry at Democrats as they are against Republicans. People are angry that some in the Democratic leadership seem more interested in fund raising off this then putting forth a plan. Many here probably don't like that I said that but it's true. We have a few Democrats suggesting plans individually and that seems it.

If we don't fix this the next blue wave wont' matter. It will just be a holding action until Republicans regain power and we lose even more ground.

14. The myth of Obama's super majority

The facts are that the "super majority" existed in theory for a very short time.
https://www.democraticunderground.com/100216851560

More importantly, the reality is that a super majority never existed for codifying Roe. In 2009, there were several Democratic Senators that were not likely to vote to codify Roe, including at minimum Bob Casey, Mark Pryor, and Ben Nelson. A couple of others, like Tim Johnson and Robert Byrd were shaky, with NARAL ratings at 50% or lower.

It says something that not one Senator introduced a bill to codify Roe in 2009. But blame Obama, because, well, that's what some people do whether its justified or not.

additional security needed to be afforded the USSC justices because they were afraid of violent protests from pro-abortion groups? No, they caved. We all knew by that time what the USSC was going to do with Dobbins and coming on the heels of the Uvalde massacre additional security to the USSC was abhorrent. The Ds should have told the Rs that if they were afraid of gun violence they should support gun reform.

Despite our best hopes, we are still "others" to all those within our government. I will fight the fight but as leaders I expect --- demand --- that Ds do a better job. Maybe we can't get laws passed right now but that doesn't mean we our congresscritters can't use the bullupulpit as effectively as Rs to get our message across. If they're not spineless, what's stopping them?

We got bi-partisan gun reform. Feel free to demand D’s do a better job, but remember to blame Republicans for what they have done rather than falsely smearing Democrats as ‘spineless’.

And the horrible truth is it really helped that the Uvalde police were so horrible and incompetent.

We have to change the strategy. We are seen as spineless. Most of us are not but too many calling the shots fear fighting as needed in these times. I am working as hard as I can online and offline to win.

It's not accurate. The White House and the Department of Justice announced preliminary actions hours after the SC decision was released.

Who benefits from the "spineless Democrats" narrative?
Cui bono?

As for framing the restoration of a constitutional right as "the final solution", it's unfortunate at best.

It’s not accidental, the relentless anti-Democratic propaganda frames (“weak,“ “doomed,” “responsible for this,” “nothing left to do but flee”) is specifically intended to demoralize.
