First of all, that’s not how you renounce your citizenship.

But, I hope he doesn’t think he can go through the actual process and then do concerts in the US.

The principal reason for renunciation is to avoid the tax consequences of earnings abroad for persons with US citizenship.

It would be very difficult for someone who has renounced to then get the necessary P-1 visa to work in the US as a visiting foreign performer.

In general, if you renounce, it is hard to then earn income in the US.

This is the lead singer and leader of the world known and legendary band 'GREEN DAY' ... He wrote the song "American Idiot" ... google it.
