This will either happen in a court of law or in the court of public opinion. Personally, I would vastly prefer that it happen in a court of law, which is governed by actual facts and evidence, rather than in the court of public opinion, where the outcome is subject to political spin by a pathological liar and his political allies, as well as to the whims of the American voters, many of whom have shown themselves to be dangerously gullible and vulnerable to these lies and conspiracy theories. The gauntlet has been thrown down, the Rubicon has been crossed, and the former president has been exposed as a criminal and a traitor. There's no going back now.
