Trump Somehow Managed To Get The Upper Hand Against The DOJ - Ring of Fire

Donald Trump managed to put the DOJ in a very uncomfortable position this week after calling on them to release the full, unredacted affidavit that led to the FBI's search of Mar-a-Lago. The DOJ filed a motion in court to prevent this from happening because doing so could compromise the investigation. Trump's team obviously knew this couldn't happen, but by asking and having their request denied makes it look like the DOJ has something to hide. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

the judge played Trump, his loathsome defenders, and the MSM...they wanted the name of the the on-site "rat"..the FBI agents were a distraction..what they'll get is pages upon pages of redactions...

This sentence is partisan b.s. spin that makes it sound like the doj is doing something shady or at least appears to be doing something shady.

It's not and it doesn't.

This is exactly the kind of right-wing propaganda talking point the the media needs to get smart about and stop repeating.

The doj is and appears to be following proper procedure.

The only thing they are doing is protecting the identity of their informants and methods, which is obviously proper and important during an ongoing investigation.

That's not something that should be characterized as "looking like they have something to hide".

12. Personally, it could work the other way, it could put djt in more of an uncomfortable position too.

But w/ the redactions, I suspect that nothing will be gained additionally from the heavily redacted affidavit. They grasping at straws (tRUMP and party).

There is no way a legitimate/judge is going to compromise national security issues.

In fact, what I would LOVE for the DoJ is to give a redacted version of the probable cause warrant at the same time it issues an indictment against Trump. That would be so much fun!
