Trump just went on the Lou Dobbs radio show and said there are no rules that apply to him and he can take whatever documents he wants and give it back whenever he wants. His erroneous understanding of the law only further incriminated himself.

(172,089 posts)at one point I was like, am I actually arguing with a three-year old? (he was insisting his sleep time was later than what his parents had instructed)

(103,210 posts)This kid could get frustrating but for the video, it's hilarious because it shows just what a three year old is like.

(172,089 posts)he wanted a toy, and showed me where it was - in a kitchen cupboard way up high....what an odd place to keep a toy I thought......but after an hour of the noise that toy made, I knew exactly why it was up there

(103,210 posts)Many years ago my sister and her son came to stay for a while, he was 2.5 years old. I thought I had childproofed my place pretty well. I had raised his mother so I thought I had it under control. Within an hour of their arrival he showed me a whole bunch of stuff I had missed! But he was also like an adult when he spoke and expected to be treated like an adult. We have always been close because I figured that out early on, he became the son I never had. Now he's in his 40s!
Kids, they sure do teach you a lot.

(2,578 posts)You are NOT the incumbent president...
The Presidential Records Act (PRA) of 1978:
https://www.archives.gov/presidential-libraries/laws/1978-act.html
In particular, it is noted the Act:
Establishes that Presidential records automatically transfer into the legal custody of the Archivist as soon as the President leaves office.
and
"Prevents an individual who has been convicted of a crime related to the review, retention, removal, or destruction of records from being given access to any original records."
That is all...

(256,614 posts)And let's not forget he's also under investigation in New York for tax evasion and in Georgia for attempting to change the legitimate voting results...
This is in addition to stealing classified documents from the federal government and attempting to overthrow the government...

(26,168 posts)There will be no insanity defense to save him - he's not losing his mind. Just his nerve. I think it has finally sunk in that he's caught. Fani Willis in GA is about to pounce, and he has no defense. Letitia James in NY is coming for him as well. The January 6 Committee keeps turning up with all the receipts from his own party, and now the DOJ is about to land on him like a ton of bricks.
He's caught. FINALLY. He knows it and he's losing the ability to keep it together. Good!
Keep talking, donnie! Dig that hole!
Rhiannon12866
(256,614 posts)Or threw money at the problem via his lawyers. But his usual tactics aren't working this time and it's gradually sinking in. He keeps sounding off, but that just digs him in deeper. His normal "rally speak" is of no use when dealing with New York, Georgia, the January 6th Committee - and now DOJ. His previous enablers are speaking out so they're not around to save him. He's on his own and that's never happened before. He's being treated like the serial lawbreaker he's always been and this time it's serious.

(8,631 posts)In so doing he is trying to persuade his MAGATS that he's done nothing wrong and the charges against him are politically motivated rather than high treason and exceptionally gross fraud.
According to his niece he is terrified that his supporters will begin to see through his charades. Given how they acted on his behalf on Jan 6th and since I would have said he's deathly afraid of that revelation.
Rhiannon12866
(256,614 posts)And he's apparently incapable of changing tactics, addressing what's inevitably confronting him, and this MAGA rally talk is not going to go over well in court, with the January 6th Committee or with the DOJ. He's relied on BS for his entire life, managed to get away with it until now, but those days are over. The only smart thing he's done was "take the Fifth" when he was called to testify in New York and I'm guessing that wasn't his idea. He's done, but his narcissist mind hasn't taken it in yet, and may never will.

Justice matters.
(9,883 posts)in the US Criminal Code, dotted all the i's and crossed all the t's before proceeding, and that toddler who ignores all the laws he infringes since decades has the gal to claim they are wrong and he is right??
He thinks he still is POTUS... mango thinks the prez is a king above the law, one who can do whatever he wants to make himself richer... and his inner family circle!
Human lives pay the price? Who cares, right??
