(10,599 posts)He knew he would get away with any crimes, just as he has his whole miserable life. The legal system in this country is a complete joke, and when youre powerful enough, you can Always escape accountability.
I Do Not expect him to face ANY consequences. It would be wonderful if it were otherwise, but the bottom line is that were a pathetic excuse for a Democracy, and thats just the reality. Someone like Glenn should realize that by now.

(257,075 posts)Obviously, the theft of top secret classified documents is the most serious crime, but he's still facing the January 6th Committee, not to mention charges of tax evasion in New York and attempting to overturn the election results in Georgia...

(81,896 posts)I have been firmly in the zero percent chance of Trump having any consequences whatsoever.
I now think there is a slight chance he will be indicted.
However that of course does not mean brought to trial or convicted. Those odds are probably still negligible.
I do not believe he will ever go to prison. The very most we can hope for is home detention.
And maybe a gag order. But he will never comply with either.
The most realistic long shot is that some MAGA cult followers are peeled off and the GOP washes their hands of Trump.
This would happen after an indictment. But that is probably all we can hope for. But it is something.
