Sanctions on Russia are 'declaration of economic war', says Vladimir Putin - BBC News

Russian President Vladimir Putin has condemned Western sanctions imposed because of the war in Ukraine as a fever that poses a threat to the entire world.

In a speech to an economic forum in the Russian city of Vladivostok, he said Russia was coping with the West's economic "aggression".

The Russian leader condemned one proposal for a cap on Russian gas prices as stupid, and said Moscow would react to a cap by halting supplies completely.

Your invasion and destruction of a sovereign nation has given you the moniker of World's Villain. So your people suffer because of your folly in Ukraine.

He’s just figuring that out? Now maybe he’ll understand why murdering citizens across the Russian border in Ukraine is wrong.

It’s Ukraine and the entire free world opposing his murderous rampage.

Perfect that such a clueless sociopath is TFG’s BFF.

President Biden warned Russian President Vladimir Putin during a phone call on Thursday of “severe sanctions” if Russia invades Ukraine, Biden told reporters a day later.

“I made it clear to President Putin that if he makes any more moves, if he goes into Ukraine, we will have severe sanctions. We will increase our presence in Europe with our NATO allies. There will be a heavy price to pay for it,” Biden told reporters in remarks Friday from Wilmington, Del.

Putin was made aware prior to his unprovoked and illegal invasion that Russia would be subject to severe sanctions, not sure why he's complaining about it now. There was a very simple way to avoid this entirely foreseeable outcome.

Letting the Russian people know (again) that it's the evil western world's fault they're having a lack of goods to purchase.

It's certainly not Russia's fault any of this is taking place.

You ain't seen nothing yet, Vlad. If you're purchasing North Korean missiles to kill Ukrainians, and starving western European countries of gas and oil in the winter months, we're all going to make sure your winter is one of great discontent as well.

Fuck around and find out, Pootie.

He plans to halt oil supplies completely? Sounds like he is sanctioning his own country. Russia has nothing but oil and bluster.

by cutting off energy supplies to Europe and by disrupting Ukraine's production and shipment of grain which will result in starvation this winter in parts of the world.

Putin is hardly in a position to declare war on NATO. He's down tens of thousands of troops, thousands of armored vehicles, dozens of planes, and millions of rounds of ammo.
