(9,354 posts)I'm 77, and I urge everyone who thinks this is a good idea do some research into the actual effects of term limits. In my experience, the term limits favor Republicans, and not just be a little bit. By a lot.
If you want to talk about a mandatory retirement age, that's different - but make it high enough not to displace Joe or RBG. Or allow exceptions. Or make medical evaluation a requiement to stay in office, and make sure the government picks the medics, not the office holder.

Forcing these people to retire would deprive us of some great minds. Where would we be in Dr. Fauci had been forced to retire at 65?
