Chief Justice Confused By Questioning SCOTUS's Legitimacy After Roe Decision - The Last Word - MSNBC

Former Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill and Slate’s Dahlia Lithwick discuss an “out of touch” Chief Justice Roberts who says he doesn’t “understand” questions about the Supreme Court’s legitimacy. MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell asks McCaskill and Lithwick about reforms they would propose for courts dominated by Trump picks to restore their legitimacy. - Aired on 09/12/2022.

I guess presiding as Chief Justice over a Court that people consider illegitimate and a Joke, isn't what he was going for.

I'm 77, and I urge everyone who thinks this is a good idea do some research into the actual effects of term limits. In my experience, the term limits favor Republicans, and not just be a little bit. By a lot.

If you want to talk about a mandatory retirement age, that's different - but make it high enough not to displace Joe or RBG. Or allow exceptions. Or make medical evaluation a requiement to stay in office, and make sure the government picks the medics, not the office holder.

This study https://news.umich.edu/one-in-7-americans-over-age-70-has-dementia/ shows that just 5% of people age 71-79 have dementia.

Forcing these people to retire would deprive us of some great minds. Where would we be in Dr. Fauci had been forced to retire at 65?

We need to do what we can to get him on our side, because of the 5 conservatives, he's the one that has voted the most times with the liberals.
