First, of course, he gave her that job. And I bet he insinuated a few things, without actually spelling it out. He’s pretty good at that. My dad used to operate that way, although on a much, much smaller scale. He could lead you to the conclusion he wanted you to reach without raising a finger. He was a skilled manipulator.
