Lots of times there is the cultural consideration, "Don't speak ill of the dead." During the time of mourning to not throw those who were personally connected to the person into a tail spin on top of their loss.
BUT I think people can speak the truth and still be "polite" about it, not lose our minds when speaking about the passing of someone who has caused harm in the world, but may have also done good at some time. Most people alive today are a mixture of good and bad and especially to their loved ones, those people see the good in a higher measure.
Although, when the orange man dies, there will be celebrations and probably a lot of NON-PC behavior and words. Because his behavior was/is an assault on American values and laws, trying to be respectful of him even as he lives and breathes is difficult.
STILL it's mostly about his behavior and entitled attitude and the LIES. The LIES just boggle the mind and make it hard for a person to retain an ability to respond rationally.
NO THE SUN IS NOT GREEN. WHO TOLD YOU THAT?
Sigh.
