He has turned into an apologist for Putin and completely glosses over the brutality of the Russian soldiers and the fact that Putin wants to eradicate the very existence of Ukraine, its people and its culture. I'm glad that Matt Duss (an American Ukrainian) was there to counter him with the actual facts.

Taking the ICBM silos out of Turkey wasn't some side deal, it was central to the problem. The US started the whole crisis by building those silos in Turkey, it's why Russia responded by building them in Cuba. Castro was delighted, we were not. Byt that's really what the whole thing was about and the US started it.

As for negotiation, they are premature. Once Russia is kicked back to their borders, that's when negotiations will take place because both sides will be taking potshots across the border because Putin won't want to give up and the Ukrainians will want to defend their own border towns.

I'm all for peace talks but right now, they would be dealing with a man who won't engage in them in good faith, rendering them useless.
