Over the past 20 years Russia has constructed PIPELINES to transport OIL & GAS to Europe at low cost. These Pipelines transport over 1 MILLION barrels of OIL per day and 144 BILLION CUBIC METERS of GAS per year however they are now becoming REDUNDANT & OBSOLETE as a result of the SANCTIONS from the West. In this video I discuss the issues surrounding these pipelines, look at what other pipelines exist, the feasibility of building new pipelines to CHINA & INDIA and provide my view on the implications of for the Russian Economy.

(17,946 posts)Building pipelines from Western Siberia across the Russian steppe to Europe is one thing. India and China present far more difficult geography on top of more than twice the distance and thru unstable regimes along the way. Will it be all that much more cost effective for India compared to simply shipping across the Arabian Sea? India isn't terribly far from Saudi's oil and Qatar's gas fields.
China has even more geographic constraints. Pipelines from Russian oil and gas fields are possible, but at what cost? But, the sea lanes carrying much of China's fossil fuel can be easily choked off in time of war by the US and our AUKUS allies. See the Strait of Malacca. One of the busiest sea lanes on earth. One of the primary reasons China is rapidly building a blue water navy.
