The Ukrainian military is prepared for the ‘brutal’ battle for Kyiv, Ukrainian economist and former minister Tymofiy Mylovanov tells #TimesRadio.

2. If Russia tries again, it will be a bloodbath mostly on their side

because they're palling to throw infantry at them with no artillery, tanks, or air support. Too much of their military hardware has been either captured or turned into scrap metal to provide it. Again, Russia will be fighting the wrong kind of war with untrained troops, a bad command structure, faulty, old or absent hardware, and all of it being driven by a leadership invested in sentimentality for a fictionalized glorious past sprinkled with a great deal of fairy dust.

I think the major string pullers behind the scenes in Russia will yank Putin out of there before there is another Suicidal Military Operation to capture Kyiv. The Kremlin thought 40 miles of tanks and APCs would scare the Ukrainians into capitulating and reinstalling their pal Yanukovich. It didn't work then and it will work even less now. It will be a shooting gallery and they'll be the sitting ducks.
