Advice to a caller who lost his friend of 35 years because of Trump politics.

A caller to Politics Done Right said he lost his friend of thirty-five years because of Trump. I told him why one should not let politics get between friendships.

Agree. Trumpers are not in my life. They bring nothing positive to my life. nt in2herbs Dec 2022 #2

I am not sure I agree with this. I cannot be friend with somebody who is a hardcore trumper. My values are too far apart. It's unfortunate but ignoring it to just keep up the friendship is not a solution, at least for me. Now, before Trump this was never a problem. I had no issues with conservative friends. With trumpers its different, I do not trust them, they would not hesitate to betray us, send us to the firing squad or whatever if trump ever became a dictator.
