BTW - That petition site is up to 47 states now. Obviously that includes some deep blue states.

(5,106 posts)I'm beginning to think we should have let them go the first time. Unfair to all the sane people in those states, though. And the Social Security thing would be a mess.

(4,325 posts)However I think too many people in all of the states want to remain citizines of the USA. I wouldn't mind if the south wants to move...except I'm in the south. I don't think it will ever become this way. It's just another dumb thing to put online.

(21,056 posts)the end, where he shows a map with a bunch of states filled in with red, implying the state gov't is actually saying they will secede from the USA, when it is just some of his fellow traitors who are being sore losers because America chose Pres. Obama again.
he's a stooge, at the top of the graphic at 7:50 it says, "state in res have applied/requested withdrawal from the United States after the Nov 6th election..."

(3,300 posts)If they can't get Texas, they're pretty much screwn. I don't care if they get 1million signatures from TX. That would only be 4 percent of the population. And they're all nuts. If this thing gets out of control they will alienate many more millions in TX.

(289 posts)Gov. Perry thought he was being clever with those ambiguous remarks on secession a couple of years ago. Now he is having to eat those words just as his political career enters a gray area. Meanwhile, this secession stuff was dead on arrival in Texas because it would hit Big Business in the pocketbook. This last election also strongly suggests the nation has gotten bored with one-trick Tea Baggers.

(1,648 posts)Does a group of 25000 speak for tens of millions of Texans? Do they know that if the leave, they would be no longer Americans nor even have a chance to regain their citizenship. These are serious decisions that have consequences beyond their own generation...is this what Texas really wants???

(21,056 posts)instead of it just being 25000 loony toon anti-American warmongers who are angry that they can't control women, and blacks, and latinos, and gays, and the presidency!
then he rambles about how the south will win a civil war (yeah, talk about nuts, this guy has violence on his mind, clearly) when he fails to realize that Florida went for Obama, and in many southern states, Democrats are a near majority, and that he only is speaking for his like-minded cuckoo bigots who want to fight the gov't! Also, he says Dems don't have guns - I know plenty that have several, and regardless, does the loon in the video think if they start fighting the gov't that they stand a chance? God, help us with these traitors like the guy in the video.

(826 posts)site there are over 20 secession petitions including New York, Illinois, California, Ohio, Virginia. These are silly and shallow people who have no conception of what seceding means or would do. Somehow they think money will still be the U.S. dollar; that they will get their benefits but not have to pay for them, etc.
We live in Texas but we are Americans first and have no desire to NOT be part of the country of our birth. Further, Texas has a population of over 25 million and that 25,000 is probably the total number who want to secede. I see a problem of numbers with that so please don't paint Texas as the only state with weirdos with small brains all states have them and they are not afraid to show their stupidity.
