As Beau says the only folks who fear Chinese economic power should be the right wing politicians and I would add, their western oligarch benefactors who will see their mutual power sharing eroded.

So do not believe anyone liberal or not MAGA has anything to fear, including militarily.

Hope more are listening and getting that…other than maybe Taiwan, half a world away from America, name another nation that actually does fear China atm, even existentially?

Name those that fear America..quite a few. Massive military bases dotting the globe can do that.

Western media is not a nation so all that fear mongering doesn’t count!

India. There have been border clashes occurring between the two countries over the past few weeks and I doubt that India is looking at the increasing connections between Pakistan and China as a favorable development. China is also building dams along one of the rivers that flow into India and Bangladesh which threatens the water supply for both countries.

I've run across articles/videos that indicate that China was going to build four reservoirs along that river and four power generation plants. I'd search for that information, but since some of it may be associated with sites affiliated with the Fulan Gong, I'm reluctant to paste links. I'll leave that up to you to do that research.

The latest border clashes have also resulted in the deaths of Indian soldiers so it has escalated past the point of fisticuffs.

Finally, did you know that Global Times is Chinese Communist Party media? I would never rely on that source to tell the truth--at least the Fulan Gong media sources have some factual reporting even if they have their own agenda.

The Global Times (simplified Chinese: 环球时报; traditional Chinese: 環球時報; pinyin: Huánqiú Shíbào) is a daily tabloid newspaper under the auspices of the Chinese Communist Party's flagship newspaper, the People's Daily, commenting on international issues from a Chinese ultra-nationalistic perspective.[1][2][3][4][5] The publication is sometimes called "China's Fox News" for its propagandistic slant and the monetization of nationalism.

Yes, some soldiers die every year in the mountains, both sides, low grade conflict for decades also. Also with Pakistan.

Back to the point, nothing of substance to fear from China militarily, or economically.

The Belts and Roads program has been of enormous benefit to dozens of developing nations…that is what is threatening to Western dominance as well as turning sympathy to China, away from the West. Why is that a bad thing?

Example..China built a road through Laos and a bridge across the Mekong to link to Thailand…where Chinese economy boosting tourists flood in and are embraced. Built a modern railway in East Africa, several damns, airports, the spectacular building that houses the African Union. roads and rails planning to link the continent sea to sea, etc. etc. America jealous?

What part of what is said in the video is incorrect? All sensible.

I've read various accounts of projects that they abandoned in South America and Africa leaving uncompleted projects, while other projects were completed with poor materials and are deteriorating--in some cases leaving environmental disasters behind.

Of course, let's not forget about the situation in Sri Lanka where they gladly accepted China's assistance in developing one of their ports. However, when Sri Lanka could not pay back the loans the Chinese government took over the port facilities there for use by their military. Obviously, India is not very happy about having the Chinese Navy at a nearby port.

The U.S. and Australia aren't happy with the situation in the Solomon Islands either since they could find the islands could fall into a similar situation as Sri Lanka with a Chinese military port. China even tried to buy out and claim the Port of Darwin in Australia itself.

Furthermore, some of the projects that China has assisted with have been with corrupt governments.

And since you think that the United States and China should cooperate on more projects, please name some of them? The only project that I'm aware of where the two countries share a common goal is on climate change and the reduction in greenhouse gases. Otherwise, the Chinese Communist Party looks upon the US unfavorably and maintaining a large favorable balance of trade with the U.S. to use as leverage.

Fortunately, foreign governments are becoming aware of some of the pitfalls dealing with China. Even Saudi Arabia was wise enough to avoid getting caught in their traps since China attempted to convince the Saudis to stop pricing oil in dollars and use the yuan instead. The Saudis sent Xi packing with his tail between his legs.

Now would you care to ask me again why turning sympathy to China, away from the West is a bad thing? I believe that I provided adequate justification for why they don't deserve sympathy beyond the general compassion that their citizens recover from COVID, that the standard of living improves, and that the citizens can live under a different political system. I also don't believe the Chinese government deserves sympathy for opening up their borders so that they can transmit more COVID to the remainder of the world.
