Bill Maher and his guests continue their conversation after the show.
Here's a "bootleg" version of the show which includes the entire interview with former Minneapolis police chief Rondo Arradondo (4:43), entire panel discussion with Rep. Ruben Gallego and NYT columnist Brett Stephens (14:15), Bill's "funny bit" (30:41), and includes the opening part of New Rules (46:56). It won't last long, as usual:

(111,245 posts)His New Rules were still "grouchy old man yells at cloud," but he did have some good points.
I had a thousand year old history teacher (at least to teenage me) tell the class that the people who were going to die hopeless and completely broken were the ones who went out with great ideals to change the entire course of human history by changing human beings. I didn't want to hear it at 16, but I very grudgingly realized she had a point. It kept me from taking the 60s and 70s too seriously. It helped.

(205,202 posts)And I certainly don't always agree with Bill, but I remember that his day job is as a comedian - and his previous show was "Politically Incorrect." He likes to argue, which is the reason he still has the occasional guest who annoys his audience, including us! He always thinks he can persuade them, but he should have learned his lesson after Geraldo...
And the teacher discussion resonated with me, too. I liked most of my teachers, but the majority of mine were on the older side, especially when I was in the early grades (2-4) in a small town. The one I was thinking of was second grade. She had taught the parents of some of my classmates, occasionally called them by the wrong name. She was also principal, they did that with the small schools, and my class was her last before retiring.
I also remember that she lived a long life after that, passing away at 105 when I had just started working at my long time permanent job. I looked up her obit awhile back to make sure I wasn't mistaken - and she was born in 1878!!! She could easily have been my grandmother's mother - and also survived the 1918 pandemic!
