Gatestone Institute is a far-right think tank known for publishing anti-Muslim articles. It was founded in 2008 by Nina Rosenwald, who serves as its president. Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and former national security advisor, John R. Bolton, was its chairman from 2013 to March 2018.

I don't dig into the backgrounds of guests on news shows. Not sure the guests connection with the Gatestone Institute has any influence on his perspective on China, but almost any news connected to China is produced by either an affiliate of the CCP or an affiliate with Fulan Gong. I know not to believe the former while I keep in mind the agenda of the latter.

The known Chinese balloon did not enter the US from the south, it came over Alaska and down through Canada, into Montana. If he cannot get basic facts like that right, how can we take anything he says seriously.

showed that the balloon entered into southern Alaska (via Gulf of Alaska) or into western Alaska (across the Bering Strait). If it is the former, then the guest would be correct with his statement that the balloon entered the US from the south since the last that I checked Alaska was still part of the US. It would also be correct to state that the balloon entered the continental US from the north as you described.
