Lawrence O'Donnell: Fox hosts' texts reveal they didn't believe Trump's election lies - The Last Word

MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell analyzes a new legal filing in the Dominion Voting Systems lawsuit against Fox News that includes text messages between the network’s hosts which indicate that they knew that former President Donald Trump’s voter fraud claims were untrue even as they continued to allow them to spread on the TV. - Aired on 02/16/2023.

Bring it down to the one on one level:

Me: Biden won the election.

You: I didn’t want him to win. I don’t want to hear that he won.

Me: OK fine I will lie to you. Trump won.

Is that better?

You: yes, that makes me feel better.

Me: Great, now I can get my money.

I always like to turn the table to try out another way of thinking about things.

I’d have figured this ploy out in a heartbeat because I used to work in television ratings research and I was also a media buyer of large amounts of television time. It’s a documentable crime. Tell the truth? Ratings go down. Lie? Ratings go up.

This is a major hazard of having a propaganda network.

Who kept changing the results every five minutes. For a long time it was established that Al Gore had won Florida. *sigh*

"Tell the truth? Ratings go down. Lie? Ratings go up." Guess truth is boring to a lot of people.
