Cop City: Judge Denies Bond to People Rounded Up in Mass Arrest for Opposing Police Training Camp

In Atlanta, a judge has denied bond for most of the people indiscriminately arrested at a music festival against the proposed "Cop City" police training facility in the Weelaunee Forest. Jailed since March 5, they are charged with domestic terrorism based on scant evidence like muddy clothes or simply being in the area at the time of the festival. We're joined by Micah Herskind, an Atlanta community organizer, who calls the charges "political prosecutions" and a blatant "attempt to repress this social movement that is trying to stop Cop City."

Exactly what I thought the instant I read the title. How about one GD reporter ask her and “GOMER” that question. Answer….because they will never come on Nichole’s, Lawrence’s and now Psaki’s show. 3. Without organized Democrats backing grassroots causes like this are doomed.

Our politicians should bringing massive pressure to bare. From oil and pipelines to local issues like this, we need protection from above. The Dem mayor is useless. We are not getting grassroots support; whether because we are too afraid of our own police wont respect first amendment rights, or, as I’m prone to believe, we’re unwillingness to be inconvenienced until we are personally impacted. Then, of course, it’s often too late.
