And Bill really did try his hand at acting, I remember that he was in two episodes of Murder, She Wrote!

I agree with Bill that there's too many people. Earth was doing fine with 4 billion.

Line for the night (for me) came from David Sedares: "Children are like animals that don't have any natural predators left."

question everything

Of course, there are many young people in the world; they are not white and not in the wealthy nations..

I added it early when it was available. And about that, as I've said, I don't know why it's being shown on CNN for viewers that didn't necessarily see the show - and I noticed that Scott Galloway was chastised for using a swear word that would have gone unnoticed on HBO. And then Bill weighed in saying that they had to "be mindful of advertisers on CNN." I'm wondering how many who watched the show think to tune in to CNN to catch Overtime. I know that I didn't.

As for children, apparently Scott Galloway was the only guest who has kids, so he did address the question. And it's been 20 years since the invasion of Iraq - I was right here on DU the night of "shock and awe."

not only to David but to his other children and anyone else, for that matter.

Is it possible to love a hateful person? That's the question humorist David Sedaris grapples with when he considers his combative relationship with his late father, Lou.

"It's been the driving force in my life: the animosity, the war that my father and I started when I was young and fought every day of our lives," he says.

Sedaris describes his dad as a mean man who was buried in "layers of rage and disappointment." He stiffed contractors, made sexual remarks to his daughters and, when Sedaris was young, would often shove and hit him. Sedaris always felt like Lou disliked him and wanted him out of his life.
