How to prosecute a prominent political figure with a hostile base of supporters - Rachel Maddow MSNBC

Ron Liebman, former assistant U.S. attorney, talks with Rachel Maddow about what it took to prosecute former Vice President Spiro Agnew, who, like Donald Trump, was a prominent political figure who weaponized his base of supporters against his prosecutors. - Aired on 03/31/2023.

Thanks! And I really don't remember much about Agnew, I should look him up, too. Rhiannon12866 Apr 2023 #2

The other day. He got out of a prison sentence by resigning.

What does “suck eggs“ mean?

It appears to me that the prosecutors are doing exactly what Liebman suggests. They are keeping their heads down and forging ahead, disregarding trumps stage antics. There is no reason to play to his drama, as nothing he does is going to help him in court.

Thanks for posting this Rhiannon. I was watching a show on another channel when I heard Rachel was doing the show tonight. I said I hope Rhiannon posts this!

And I'd say that "suck eggs" means too bad for you, it's kind of an insult, "oh go suck eggs."

And not only are the prosecutors ignoring TFG's ridiculous antics, but they're letting him dig himself in deeper. No wonder he can't keep a lawyer, he refuses to take advice from anyone since he always knows better.

Of course I'd post Rachel, her being on tonight was a pleasant surprise - guess this TFG indictment calls for "all hands on deck." Though she kept talking about Alex Wagner being on vacation - but I expected to see Ali Velshi tonight since he was on in her place earlier this week, and I prefer him.

And there were 4 segments with Rachel and I posted them all.
