Congressman Jamaal Bowman put on a display in the halls of Congress I would love to see more of. He called out Republicans for their negligence on weapons of war.

The truth is that not all teachers are TV or movie heroes.

Not all teachers are the movie character, a former Navy Seal who decided to teach after 20 years in the military.

What gun would the other guy in the hall facing Bowman have the teacher carry? We recently had a shooter in a school that was carrying an AR-15-style weapon, and the police outside were waiting for SWAT because they knew they were outgunned.

Do we arm all teachers with AR 15 slung to carry on their backs? And stock their desk draws with extra fully loaded banana clips.

Teachers today are spending their own money to buy teaching supplies. WHO IS GOING TO PAY TO ARM THEM AND TRAIN THEM?

It is a stupid argument that the solution is armed teachers.
