Related: About this forumDominion takes Fox to the cleaners, then Smartmatic, then Fox's own shareholders. Will Fox survive?
Fox's troubles have just begun. First, Dominion Voting Systems takes Fox to the cleaners - securing a settlement in excess of three-quarters of a billion dollars. Next up, a defamation suit brought by Smartmatic for $2.7 billion. After that, a derivative suit brought by Fox's own shareholders against Fox executives and officers for their negligence in allowing the defamation to go unchecked.
Then there's a suit brought against Fox by one of Tucker Carlson's former producers, Abby Grossberg. Can Fox weather the financial devastation of having to settle suit after suit? - Glenn Kirschner - 04/19/2023.

(7,423 posts)2. This is a difficult chess game for Fox
The settlement with Dominion kept their talking heads from having to testify in court and reveal the Grand Canyon between statements they make under oath and stories they fabricate on the air.
However, if they can't settle with Smartmatic and it goes to court anyway, they won't get much of a return on that hush money payment err I mean settlement. What's a peddler of alternative facts to do?

If he intended to settle with Dominion, he should have done so before all the evidence was out there - texts and emails from his "hosts" indicating that they knew that they were spouting lies and that they knew the truth about the election results.
As for Smartmatic, last I knew, the trial was going ahead - and they are asking over $2 billion.
