In E. Jean Carroll's "Heroic" Rape Trial Against Trump, His Team Calls No Witnesses

Former President Donald Trump’s legal team rested its case Thursday in the rape, battery and defamation trial brought by writer E. Jean Carroll without calling a single witness. Carroll has accused Trump of raping her in a dressing room at Bergdorf Goodman in the 1990s. Carroll was able to file the case against Trump decades later because New York opened a one-year window on the statute of limitations for adult survivors of sexual assault. Trump says he may still ask to testify before jury deliberations are set to begin next week. The lawsuit against Trump is a major effort to counter the “long-standing tradition in our culture for protecting powerful men for sexual assault and sexual harassment,” says Deborah Tuerkheimer, law professor at Northwestern University and the author of Credible: Why We Doubt Accusers and Protect Abusers.

If Trump is too coward to stand face to face with the jury, I would love to see E Jean Carrol’s Female Attorney bring in “exhibit A” as evidence. Have her roll in on Monday on a hand cart one of those naked trump statues and stand it at the defense desk next to TacoPenis, turn to the jury and ask, “exactly whose TYPE is this, raise your hands please”?

So that might backfire. He was being portrayed by the press as some sort of dreamboat, something that only worked on people outside NY/New England.

I do think that if he comes galloping back to the courtroom to tell his version of events, his lawyers till likely quit. Or his decent lawyer, not that Habba creature. He will be a disaster.

I have a strong feeling that his lawyers will come up with a settlement over the weekend preventing a damning summation by the prosecution versus weak bullshit by the defense.
