His lawyers will probably do double duty as his campaign managers.

(43,348 posts)I predicted a few months ago that Smith would probably file by August recess, but with Trump, there's endless dirt to uncover, so who knows.
Up late, I see.

(258,754 posts)Just wondering...
And I'm almost always up late.

(43,348 posts)I got up early.
For the past year, sleeping in 3-5 hour shifts. May be the weird part of aging lol.
We know there won't be jail. But he'll be out of the public eye, thank heaven, and maybe the country can resume some competence and skill in governing priorities.
That there problem of multiple sentences is one I look forward to.
Even if he were to get light sentences for three convictions -- which seems likely -- that amounts to a life sentence. Works for me.

(258,754 posts)When I was in college, I often stayed up all night (or most of it) during exam week when I had papers due.
However, it is a problem when I have appointments so I try to make them as late as possible during the day.
And that's the thing about TFG, he's got so many legal challenges ahead of him, the appearance for Alvin Bragg, Fani Willis is aiming for August, then there's Letitia James and a second round with E. Jean Carroll - but what happens if he's already convicted on federal charges which his own former attorneys said will come with a jail sentence?? Can he be tried virtually from jail?? Or will he be forced to attend with leg irons and handcuffs??

(43,348 posts)I never could work late while tired, but would sleep at least 5 hours, hit the coffee, grade papers and plan.
I'm pretty sure that criminals with multiple jurisdiction trials doshow up for them more than we think. His case will be different in that he's facing more criminal indictments than your average crimer. So the jailed dress for the occasion, then return to some place of detention, maybe even be some hotel, but where he's serving a sentence, during his other trials, won't be a world of makeup stylists, jets, golf courses and gold toilets.

(258,754 posts)I think it's an inherited tendency, my Dad and my closest aunt (his sister) were always night owls. And I worked with computers for my long-time job, so when my uncle, who was a computer guy who worked in D.C. came to visit, I invited him to stop by at my office - and he showed up at midnight!
And wouldn't that be the ultimate punishment for TFG, no make up, no hair stylists, no jackets and red ties - just come as you are, with cameras reporting his arrival??

(43,348 posts)It probably is, since my parents were night owls, too.
Yep, things are gonna happen to TFG.
I look forward to that.
There'll be an upside and downside. The upside a time of peace and quiet (Carlson, Limbaugh, TFG and former congress rethugs gone) and good governance; the downside all the new grievance politics and old trumpcult nazi replacement fears that'll follow.
