Related: About this forumI left Russia. Am I scared? - The Russian Dude
When did this happen? Why did I decide to do it? Am I scared? What happens next? As some of you might know, I left Russia long before this war started. And I was planning to visit it in May of last year, but for obvious reasons, I couldn't. And, unfortunately, I am not sure when I will be able to go back home.
0:00 I left the country. Why this happened and when?

(23,362 posts)1. Who can blame them.
There's a sizable community of Russian emigrés now in, of all places, Argentina - mainly in Buenos Aires.
It's well-publicized inflation problem notwithstanding, Argentina has liberal immigration policies and a good jobs climate - at least until a right-wing government gets in this October (potentially), and drives the economy into the ditch.
But for the time being, it seems to work for most of them - Ukrainians too (in smaller numbers).
