Chuck Todd to step down as Meet the Press moderator after 9 years, Kristen Welker To Replace Him



Meet the Press host and moderator Chuck Todd announced on Sunday that he will step down this year after nine years hosting the public affairs talk show. Kristen Welker, NBC News co-chief White House correspondent, will succeed him. - NBC News - Aired on 06/04/2023.

She’s gotta be an improvement over choad, right? If I hear good things, I may break my self-imposed exile from talk news programs and actually watch.

And IIRC she moderated the final debate between President Biden and TFG, and received great reviews for keeping the ranter-in-chief in line!

The last two hosts were political flacks who lived in exclusive communities like their guests. I think Russert lived very close to Dick Cheney. Both flacks started thinking they were ‘somebody’ through association. I’ll read reviews and watch video clips until I see whether I’d watch in its entirety.

But she truly is "fair and balanced," news reports say that she was a registered Democrat in 2004 and 2012, but has been "unaffiliated" since 2016, no doubt due to her job.

I hated his chuckle. I thought of him as self-important chuckle head. Why he’s still revered by people at NBC is beyond me.
