Jack Smith has a Plan to deal with corrupt Aileen Cannon

Explains that Cannon who doesn't sit in Miami was assigned to be the magistrate judge on Tuesday because the clerk connected it to the earlier search warrant litigation.

If Cannon were to sit as the trial judge then it would mean that she would have a 3 hour daily commute as she doesn't sit in Miami and it is extremely rare for the trial judge to be assigned to sit from another courthouse.

If she doesn't recuse then Smith can appeal directly to the 11th district who a) is very quick b) handed Cannon a severe rebuke overturning her earlier rulings.

It was posted in GD a couple of days ago but with the ongoing concern about "the jury already in" thought it deserved to be reposted.

She would get up at 3:00 am every day and drive for hours for the chance to preside over this case. I have every confidence in Jack Smith, however. This isn’t his first rodeo and so far, he’s been masterful in handling this matter. I have no doubt he has a plan.

justified by the taxpayers.

Nevertheless, majority of Americans favor law and order, and to allow due process in a "neutral" environment.

Personally, most Americans are truly getting pissed with the GQPs.

I have confidence in Jack Smith, whatever happens with Cannon. The whiny, entitled Republicans are getting old, indeed.

Interesting.

3 hour daily commute likely addressed by long-term hotel room stay???

Magistrate judge hearing such a significant case? 'They have authority to issue warrants, conduct preliminary proceedings in criminal cases, such as initial appearances and arraignments, and hear cases involving petty offenses committed on federal lands. In most districts, magistrate judges handle pretrial motions and hearings in civil and criminal cases. While most civil cases are tried by district judges, magistrate judges may also preside over civil trials if all parties consent.' https://www.uscourts.gov/judges-judgeships/about-federal-judges#:~:text=In%20most%20districts%2C%20magistrate%20judges,trials%20if%20all%20parties%20consent.

11th Circuit Court of Appeals may (or may not) care about it's reputation.

She will continue to have a full schedule at her regular court.

My understanding is that a magistrate judge and presiding judge are different as follows

Magistrate judges handles transactional issues independent of the case. Reinhart (?) handled the search warrant. According to this guy Cannon is only the Magistrate

Presiding judge runs the trial.

3 hour commute= 1 1/2 drive each way

4. There could be a silver lining to her being assigned to this case.

The Supreme Court has already been exposed as money grubbing compromised Federalist Society appointees. There are hundreds more FS stooges doing their bidding in the lower courts. Aileen just might bring this to the attention of the average American. Jack Smith can handle this.

where judges preside. Reinhart issued the docs warrant, so he's a logical replacement.
I love that Popok's been the only lawyer to point this out; I like this guy.

12. I'm confident Smith would request a different judge if Cannon got the case...

...& if she didn't recuse voluntarily the 11th Circuit would make it happen.

Paraphrasing what a person who worked for years in that Circuit said, the 11th Circuit has already had to rebuke her twice in the proceedings leading up to this case & there's no way they'll allow the case to go forward with the shadow of judicial bias over it, period. The case is too high profile, it would reflect badly on the whole Circuit, & there are plenty of people there with much longer careers, more expertise, & more influence than Cannon & they simply won't allow that kind of nonsense in their Circuit. If the case is assigned to her & Smith requests a different judge he'll get it, the Circuit will make sure of that.

I have no insight or expertise in this, just relaying what was said. To me, it's reassuring.

From what you're saying, the judges in the Seventh Circuit would be out of their minds to let her preside over this trial. I have a lot of faith in Smith and figured he would find a way to handle this, but I feel even better after reading this post!

16. 3 hour commute?!?

Downtown West Palm Beach to Government Center Miami is 70 miles.

Sure, I-95 has heavy traffic, but three hours?

I agree with the rest of your points, but anyone that is taking 3 hours to get from WPB to downtown Miami is driving like a Boca Raton Bluehair.
