Related: About this forumDeSantis Bores Crowd With Same Old Rant About 'Wokeness' - Ring of Fire
During his speech at the recent "Faith and Freedom" event this past weekend, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis bored the crowd to death with his same-old rants about "wokeness" and how he was going to eliminate it, without actually explaining what any of that means. He also went off on a tangent about how bad crime was during his recent trip to California, even though crime and overdose rates in Florida are WAY higher than those in California. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins talks about DeSantis' failing campaign and messaging.

Nearly all of the Republican people running for president right now showed up at the, uh, faith and Freedom Coalition event that took place over this past weekend, starting on Friday. And one of the first folks to go and speak to that gaggle of lunatics was Ron DeSantis. And Ron DeSantis gave the same old speech that he's given all across the country at this point, a speech that means absolutely nothing. A speech that left that crowd at the Faith and Freedom Coalition. Bored and honestly a little bit confused because not only did Ron DeSantis rant and rave about wokeness and how he's gonna leave it on the dust bin of history, cuz he says that all the time. He also took a couple shots at his recent trip to California where he said that the crime in California so bad, they're just doing it out in the open on the streets.
Here is what Ron DeSantis said on Friday during his speech to the Faith and Freedom Coalition. When woke overtakes our criminal justice system like it has in San Francisco, like it has in Los Angeles, the average person becomes less safe in their communities as a result. Don't tell me it doesn't affect people's lives. I was just in San Francisco, I saw in 20 minutes on the ground people defecating on the sidewalk. I saw people using fentanyl. I saw people smoking crack right there in the open, right there on the street. It was a civilization in decay.
Okay? Um, you know, Ron, those things are still illegal. Like you could have just pulled out your phone and called the police. Yeah. That's also an option for you. You know, if you see something, say something, you don't just walk by these alleged crimes taking place and being like, Hmm, that's a shame. If only if only somebody could do something. Oh, well do, do do do, do. No. Like if you see people smoking crack on the, on the street, if you see somebody defecating on the sidewalk, maybe pull the cell phone outta your pocket and be like, Hey cops. Oh, you may wanna come to this little block because it's just crazy down here. Uh, but no, Ron DeSantis didn't do that. And I'm assuming he didn't do that because these stories he's telling didn't actually happen. But if you wanna see real crime, Ron, why don't you come back to Florida? Because a recent report actually revealed that crime in the state of Florida in certain cities is actually worse than those cities that you keep attacking in California, cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles, you wanna see real crime? Go down to Miami, go over to Jacksonville because those places have worse crime rates. The murder rate in Florida is worse than those cities. It's worse than New York. The drug overdose deaths
Are higher in Florida than they are in San Francisco, in LA or New York. So all of these places that DeSantis is attacking for, allegedly having some kind of woke criminal justice system, his state is worse by the way. You wanna talk about people defecating on sidewalks? It wasn't that long ago while walking from my car into the studio here that I had to step over human feces on the sidewalk. So it's happening in your state too. So maybe clean up your own backyard, quite literally and figuratively before you travel across the country, trashing somebody else's. Not to mention the fact that the crowd is getting bored of you repeatedly using the word woke without being able to define or even clearly explain, close to what it means. But that's all DeSantis is at this point.
