the most heinous crime here is the intense shaming of pregnant girls ingrained into our culture and the terror they feel when it comes to admitting what's going on to themselves or anyone else..

This isn't the first time this has happened and it won't be the last.

A first degree murder charge is silly. I sincerely hope it gets plea bargained down to manslaughter, a much more appropriate charge, given an extremely traumatic birth into a toilet, the teenaged mother locked into denial, terror, and extreme shame.

That snotty, censorious narrator hasn't got a clue. Maybe he needs some comprehensive sex education, too.

The hospital also knew she was in danger of self harm. Where was their crisis counselor.

Did this atrocious, patriarchal,judgemental narrator ever ask about the father? Or the responsibility of the hospital.

3. Apparently this occurred at the emergency room of a small hospital in a smallish town

in the evening.
