Trump has mental issues. I agree with that.

I think the roots in MAGA are the steady diet of misinformation / GOP propaganda they've been getting for years and the media they follow allows lying. The mainstream media is also guilty in that they want to debate the lie vs the facts to keep their ratings up - which furthers the belief in the lie.

We have a very misinformed and as such ignorant large portion of the electorate.

They may not be mentally ill, but they do have personality disorders.

I can look back at MAGAs I have known for years, and it is no surprise they are open to messages of prejudice, of hate, of victimhood, of fear.

ABC News finds 54 cases invoking 'Trump' in connection with violence, threats, alleged assaults.
Reviewing police reports and court records, ABC News found:

12 cases of perpetrators who hailed Trump in the midst or after physically assaulting innocent victims.

18 cases, where perpetrators cheered or defended Trump while taunting or threatening others.

10 cases, Trump and his rhetoric were cited in court to explain a defendant's violent or threatening behavior.

13 cases involved violent or threatening acts in defiance of Trump.

41 of the 54 cases reflect someone echoing presidential rhetoric.

ABC News could not find a single criminal case where an act of violence or threat was made in the name of Obama or W. Bush.

The perpetrators and suspects identified in the 54 cases are mostly white men – as young as teens and as old as 75 – while the victims largely represent an array of minority groups.

Trump has said he deserves "no blame" for what he called the "hatred" coursing through parts of the country.
