George Will: Neither Trump nor DeSantis will get Republican nomination - NewsNation

Senior political contributor George Will joins "NewsNation Prime" to discuss the Iowa State Fair, saying neither former President Donald Trump or Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis are likely to get the GOP nomination in the Republican primary.

====================

I usually don't care for what George Will has to say; however, listening to him say that neither Trump nor DeSantis will receive the GOP nomination leaves room for an exception (barely).

Other GOPers should be, but not necessary in today’s decisive politics.

that is, if one has any faith that Geo Will has the foggiest idea of what he is talking about. (which I find - questionable in the extreme)

Short of Trump simply not appearing on the ballot ... The nomination is clearly his.

back in the 1980s. Once in a blue moon I would agree with him, but then he would go back to ivory tower. Anyway, I think it's going to be Tim Scott. Old white Republicans like my dad love him. And if they split the black vote, that would make it very hard for us to win. But the GOP is still dealing with Trump's vanity tour. All that tension we see on McConnell's face is a result of trying to get his party to listen to some sense. But the people with the money are backing Scott. Let's hope they don't get back to their senses before the Republican Convention.

He fulfills their longing for a black man who will implement their policies, so they can say, 'see, these policies aren't racist. Our black guy has no problem with it.' Maybe some black voters, the more conservative black voters, will vote for him. It's such a razor-thin margin that any little thing can make a big impact.

We don't need a religious nut right now. I don't think most people in this country want that. We've already seen what they do when they get any power.

They run on emotions: anger, fear, terror. Most pols hate Trump but their hate always gets trumped by fear.
