Something does feel different about this indictment.
@thejackhopkins
The United States of America is tired of Donald Trumps bullshit. Its about to come to a sudden halt. He cant buy his way out of this. He cant threaten his way out of this. Donald John Trump is DONE.
He wont be the nominee. He will never again hold any office. His grasp on the GOP is slipping rapidly
and it will let go completely very soon.
You might not believe that. Thats okay. What Ive laid out doesnt require anyone to believe it,for it to happen. It will happen. Who will be the nominee? I dont know yet. I just know who it wont be: it wont be Donald Trump.

@EdKrassen
Where is the line drawn for what constitutes potential witness tampering?
Trump, this morning, made this Truth Social post, attacking Former Georgia Lt. Gov Geoff Duncan who is reportedly testifying against him in front of Fani Willis' Fulton County Grand Jury.
"I am reading reports that failed former Lt. Governor of Georgia, Jeff Duncan, will be testifying before the Fulton County Grand Jury. He shouldnt. I barely know him but he was, right from the beginning of this Witch Hunt, a nasty disaster for those looking into the Election Fraud that took place in Georgia. He refused having a Special Session to find out what went on, became very unpopular with Republicans (I refused to endorse him!), and fought the TRUTH all the way. A loser, he went to FNCNN!"
This is definitely not a threat but it does seem to be a push to intimidate Duncan?
Where should the line be drawn?

Historically, do you see the trial more like O.J., or Nuremberg? Eichmann was described at the time as appearing so normal, the banality of evil, everyone just went along because it was the thing to do. Nazis were a cult too.

(13,477 posts)ensure their future elections, but I dont see that they have much wiggle room to do anything. The governor also does not seem to be a big Trump fan. Eventually Trump could be pardoned, but it would have to be by the State Board of Pardons and Paroles. Its five members are appointed by the governor, so they may all be Republicans, but theyre not running for election so theyre less likely to be swayed by current politics or threats from Trump.

There are two different pardon applications. Please review the information below to determine which application pertains to your situation.
● General Pardon and Restoration of Rights Application ( application )
● Registered Sex Offender Pardon Application ( application )
To qualify for a Pardon for offenses other than sex offenses which require you to be listed on Georgias Sex Offender Registry:
● You must have completed all sentence(s) at least five (5) years prior to applying.
● You must have lived a law-abiding life during the five (5) years prior to applying.
● You cannot have any pending charges.
● All fines must be paid in full.

(1,884 posts)Just going by the defendants recent and distant history, he is probably the last person that you could count on to not intimidate witnesses, jurors or judges, or prosecutors, etc. So with that in mind, if I were the judge, it would be no doubt in my mind I would put him in Jail until the completion of the trial.
Of course, as we know, and obviously by design, the defendant has been running for president again for quite some time to hopefully preclude a judge from doing that very thing, while he continues to do all the things the judges tell him not to do.
Seems to me the only effective way to handle the defendant is to put a muzzle on him by putting him in jail and censor every communication that he makes while hes in jail. In addition, since he has to obviously meet with his lawyers for legal consultation while in jail, you have to tell all of his attorneys that they too, will be subject, to all kinds of criminal prosecution if they communicate any intimidations to the people that the judge has precluded him from intimidating.
Of course probably none of the above will happen, and we will all have a ringside seat to watch the non stop nonsense the defendant is constantly entertaining us with.

"Former President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social, his social media platform, on Monday saying Georgias former Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan shouldnt testify in grand jury proceedings this week regarding allegations that Trump attempted to overturn the 2020 election results in the stateand some legal analysts are saying the post could be witness intimidation or tampering."
