(55,137 posts)and they took a bit of time since I put the image of him behind bars with Lock Him Up across his image and inside silver hoop earrings that I already had (I make all sorts of things since I am an artist). I have jewelry making supplies. They looked so professionally made that people asked me where to get some and others (total strangers) would take pictures of them when I was out shopping. Then Covid came around and I couldn't wear them for 3 years since they always got caught in the N95 mask straps. I recently stopped masking since it is hot outside and have started wearing them again. Right away I got tons of "I love your earrings" compliments from strangers again. I also made dozens of lapel pins in 2016 and gave them away too. Each one took about 45 minutes to make but that was OK...I was spreading my message.
I updated the bumper sticker on my car tonight (actually two) since the rain from Hurricane Hillary washed out my bumper sticker (laminating them is a problem).
If I couldn't wear my earrings and pins and drive safely with my bumper stickers I would be crushed. Thank Dog I live in a very anti-tRump area in CA. At first (in 2016) I was nervous for my car's safety but when so many others liked them I felt empowered and made a lot of them for friends and family and even for the strangers who complimented my "statement".
I wish your area was more Dem. You must feel frustrated when you can't openly share your views. I have seen so few cars with pro-tRump bumper stickers that I actually recall them since they are so rare. I make a point to laugh and point at their car when I pass them and I have seen their expressions when I do so. They should be mocked and ridiculed. They are assholes.

(255,525 posts)In fact two of my oldest friends are long term members and two women I told about DU signed up but never posted, that I'm aware of. Back in 2016 I saw no TFG signs around here, but 2020 was a different matter. When I went to vote the house across the street from my polling place had a TFG banner!
We got redistricted in 2013, we became a part of the northernmost district. Our Rep. was a moderate Democrat, but he retired in 2015 and I went to the meetup where he introduced his chosen successor. I liked what the guy had to say, made GOTV calls for him - but he inexplicably lost to Stefanik(!) and that is part of the problem.
And you sound very talented! I wish I had your courage, but I never know around here now. Back in 2004 I had a New Yorkers for John Kerry bumper sticker and some elderly man gave me a hard time in the PetsMart parking lot, that was it, but now I never know.

(26,014 posts)his image for today and posterity to look like a ruthless, rage-filled, cold-eyed killer type. It's what he considers his best self image and public image. It's how he wants to be known and remembered.
Most people want their photos to show an attractive, intelligent, friendly person. Or for professional photos to show a serious minded person. Even in serious professional photos, people either smile or have a hint of a smile.
But Trump wants to be seen as a villain, even while he claims not to be one. Such a sharp contrast the picture is to his claims of innocence.

(255,525 posts)So you're right, he definitely chose that look, not that it will scare Fani Willis. She really is turning out to be the national hero we've been waiting for all this time. Not to disparage Jack Smith, he's done an amazing and particularly tough job too - but it sounds like Fani Willis is moving forward now. All I care about is that he's disqualified from running to lead the government he attempted to overthrow! And you're right, that photo actually did capture the villain within.
