Democrats are fooling ourselves into the false belief that Biden’s approval ratings are mostly tied to his age. That is lazy and fails to see that the MAGA Republican machine works on 16 cylinders.

Reagan was being beaten by Mondale in the polls 14 monrh before his re-election.

But it is the case that Duke was up on Poppy by a considerable amount until after the conventions. And Mondale was momentarily ahead of Reagan after the Democratic convention in July 1984.

To me, the most concerning thing about those poll results, if they are accurate, is that almost half of Americans are willing to throw out our system and establish a dictatorship in its place.
